Drugs With A Difference Limited is a pharmaceutical research and development company dedicated to drug repurposing. Repurposing drugs allows us to bring drugs rapidly to the clinic for the treatment of cancers such as breast, colon, prostate, lung, brain, stomach and the nasopharynx, as well as cancers of the blood, such as leukaemias and multiple myeloma.
Our focus is on the development of formulations of old drugs for use in new diseases states. This allows us to partner with international pharmaceutical companies by licensing our patents to them.
Our overall aim is to bring new drugs to treat cancer to market in the shortest possible time, typically less than 2 years (rather than the customary 10 years). This is achievable as the drugs we are working on are already in use in man for diseases other than cancer, and all the necessary human toxicity studies have already been performed.
Our team of company staff and external consultants comprise of some of the world’s best in their respective fields. The team have skills and experience which match their passion for drug research and development. In addition, they have all been affected by cancer in some way, which has caused their relatives and friends to suffer. This only increases their determination to fight the disease.
The company is based at BioCity Nottingham, Europe’s largest bioincubator, which is the old Boots research and development site where Ibruprophen/neurophen was developed.
